5 places to visit in Geneva.

Updated: Nov 16, 2023

Are you planning your trip? If you've made it this far I bet your destination will be Geneva, and I'm going to introduce you to 5 places you can't miss on this trip.

Spring has begun and Geneva's most beautiful gardens are waking up.

01 - Let's definitely start with the lake that is the star of Geneva's show. It is the backdrop for many of the city's most beautiful views and has the snow-capped Alps as its incomparable backdrop.

02 - And of course we won't leave out the Jetée des Eaux-Vives, the breakwater surrounding the port of Geneva, a powerful jet of water rises from the surface of the lake in a 145-meter plume.

03 - I also recommend you the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre dating from 1150, the Romanesque church at the highest point of Geneva's old town features some Gothic elements.

04 - Let's not leave out the south side of the lake, known as the Rive Gauche, the Promenade du Lac heads east from the Pont du Mont-Blanc, flanked by the Jardin Anglais, where you will see the large flower clock, almost as emblematic of the city as the Jet d'Eau.

05 - On your visit to Geneva you can't miss the Geneva botanical garden, founded in 1902 to replace a smaller one at Parc des Bastions. Its greenhouses, gardens and conservatory cover some 28 hectares and feature more than 12,000 species of plants and trees.

I'm going to give you a bonus and point you to one more place that you can't miss in Geneva. That's right, the Salle Centrale de la Madeleine where one of the most anticipated parties of the year will take place on April 26th and 27th and you already know about this great event? See you in Geneva!
